Over the past two years we have been deeply involved in the development and deployment of commercial UAS and the various legislations affecting its safe use.

During his time at Trimble Juan oversaw the deployment and support of UAS projects in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

During this time he was in charge of following the legislation of the different Civil Aviation Authorities (CAA) in the 27 countries in Latin America. In 2014 Juan participated in a legislative meeting at ANAC (Brazil’s CAA) during which the law regulating UAS in Brazil was discussed and submitted for comments.

Juan participated in meetings with the Ecuadorian Mapping Agency (IGM) and helped supervise the deployment of the first flight of a mapping UAS in Antarctica.

Juan is a regular columnist at xyHt where he focused on the safety of commercial UAS and the need to be responsible users of this emerging technology.

The world has been taken by storm by a sudden influx of drones, or UAS’s. This new reality has forced the FAA in the USA and regulatory agencies worldwide to implement strict rules to manage the safe use of these platforms. There are multi-rotor helicopters and fixed-wing airplanes crossing our skies in a multitude of applications, only some, following these rules.

There are plenty of brands and solutions for the amateur hobbyist and the occasional user. Applications for business are abundant and the industry keeps adding new ones daily.

If you are in an industry that might benefit by adding this emerging technology to your existing systems, JBPC is the answer.
